Why without money?

Almost everything we own we rarely use. A drill runs for a handful of minutes in its entire life. By trading instead of buying and selling, what stands still starts moving again, without needing a price on it.

That is why no amount appears anywhere on this site: no price, no bid, no top-up. There is a trade value in classes, so you can find something of equal weight, and a map, because a trade that is too far away never happens.

Browsing without an account

Everything listed is public to view and search. You only need an account to list something yourself or to send someone an offer.

This site runs on its own server

Ruilmarkt runs on its own machine, in one container, with the data next to it on disk. There is no analytics service, no ad network and no tracking cookie. The only cookies are for your login, your language choice and form security.
